30 Ways to Reset Your Mind and Body in 30 Days

30 Ways to Reset Your Mind and Body in 30 Days.

Every day builds on the last. By the end of the thirty days you will be completely refreshed and invigorated.

Lets Begin!

1. Begin to Journal

Journaling is a great way to write out your frustrations, to pour your thoughts onto a page and out of your mind, to make plans for the future, and to decide what kind of person you want to be.

Set a timer for 10 Minutes and begin to write.

Write whatever comes out of your mind.

Try not to lift your pen from the page. Or, if you are writing on a computer, try not to pause for very long.

This kind of writing is called Stream of Consciousness.

It’s a way to just write what is on your heart.

Sometimes you will be surprised at what you write!

2. Begin to Meditate

I know for a lot of people meditation seems daunting. I too used to think I couldn’t meditate. I thought you need a still mind to meditate. But this is not the case. Anyone can meditate. Meditation is simply awareness of the present moment. Awareness of your mind as it is in this moment.

We don’t have to meditate for hours upon hours. Five minutes is a good start.

Set a timer for 5 minutes.

Find a seated position.

Close your eyes or keep them open.

Allow whatever comes to your mind to come. Watch it go without chasing it. Whether good or bad, let it pass.

You are meditating! Congrats!

3. Become a Witness to your Thoughts

Now that we have meditated for five minutes, the next goal is to be a witness to your thoughts as you go about your day. Try to check in from time to time and allow your thoughts to simply exist, and watch them pass.

You are not your thoughts.

You are the witness.

The more we let our thoughts pass, the more we realize we are not our thoughts.

Our thoughts are just the tip of the iceberg.

Certainly, we were meant to use our minds to think, not have our minds control what we think.

4. Drink Tea

Who doesn’t love a spot of tea?

A warm cup of tea on a cold day, with honey and lemon. So nice!

Treat yourself to a cup of tea of your choice.

Slow down and spend time with your tea. Enjoy each and every sip.

A cup of tea is like a mini vacation. One sip at a time.

5. Stretch Every Morning

When you wake up in the morning, do you stretch?

Light stretching in the morning is good for waking up the body and mind.

You don’t have to go crazy. Just follow what your body wants to do.

Toe touches and out stretched arms.

You don’t have to do full blown yoga. Just some simple stretches.

Your body will thank you!

6. Exercise

Whether you go to the gym, or you do yoga, or you do pushups at your house, spend some time each day exercising.

You don’t have to spend a ton of time. 15 minutes a day is enough to transform your body.

What is important is that you move your body.

We weren’t meant to sit around all day at a computer or in a cubicle.

Exercise!

7. Go For Walks

Whether it’s a walk around the block, or a walk in the woods, just make sure you spend some time each day, walking.

Walking, along with stretching and exercising, will round out your day. Even if you have to drive somewhere to then walk in the park. Walking is good for your mental and physical health.

Walk further each day. Soon you will be walking miles with no problem.

You got this!

8. Cut Out Fast Food

This time it’s not what you should do, but what you shouldn't do.

Fast food is easy but it’s a trap.

When we eat fast food, it tastes good, but we will pay for it later.

We pay for it with our waistline and with our health.

Instead, eat healthy snacks.

An apple with peanut butter. A yogurt. A banana. Mixed nuts.

9. Write An Article or an Essay

Allow yourself to write whatever you want.

Don’t write what you think others may want to read.

This time, write for you.

Write whatever is on your heart.

You never know where it could take you. Maybe one day you will turn it into the novel you always wanted to write.

All yourself to write.

10. Plan A Mini-Trip

Do you want to go to the mall even though it’s an hour away?

Or, maybe into the nearest city just to walk around.

The key is to carve out time for yourself.

Plan something you ordinarily wouldn’t let yourself do.

Consider doing it even if it’s a little out of your budget.

Money is just money. You can’t eat it so you might as well spend it.

11. Read A Book

Books have the ability to teach us things we otherwise would never know. You can read scary books, fantasy books, memoirs, comedies, self help books, the choice is yours.

Read whatever you want.

Learn something.

I recommend a couple books.

The Alchemist by Pau Coelho.

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

And of course, one of my own:

Angels Among Us: Called. Out of Darkness by Michael X Christopher

12. Buy Someone A Present

Pick someone. Anyone.

Could be a family member, or a friend, or a coworker, or even a stranger.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money. Just buy something small.

Spend $5-$10 dollars.

It is the thought that counts.

I bet you the person will be so surprised to get a gift thats not on their birthday.

Buy something fun!

13. Take A Bath

If you have the opportunity to take a bath, do it!

I know showers are more time efficient, but baths can be fun, and luxurious.

You can throw a bath bomb in there while you’re at it!

Maybe bring that book you are reading into the bath.

Light a candle.

Relax!

14. Bake Cookies

I don’t care if you are a baker. Neither am I.

We can all follow a recipe, right?

We can shop for the ingredients, follow the recipe, bake, then the best part, we get to eat!

Do you want to go with the good ol’ chocolate chip, or maybe peanut butter, oatmeal raisin?

Surely, eating the cookies at the end is the best and most important part.

Hey wait, maybe the present you give to someone could be the cookies you baked!

Nice!

15. Laugh Out Loud

I don’t care if you have to go to a comedy show. We all need to laugh out loud. We need to laugh at this crazy world as much as possible. Don’t let anyone steal your joy.

We can laugh at ourselves, or we can laugh with another.

I recommend not taking yourself too seriously.

Because seriously, who wants to be around someone so serious?

16. Create A Brand

You don’t have to plan on taking it global. It’s just for fun.

It can be a clothing brand, or a brand of sneakers, or a brand of services provided.

The key is to create something new. Let your imagination run wild for a moment.

Is there something you always wanted to create?

It can be a brand of socks, if that interests you.

You can create anything!

17. Learn Something New

Maybe you always wanted to learn how to code. Or, you always wanted to learn how to publish a book.

You can learn anything!

The point is to try new things and expand your horizons.

What do you want to learn?

18. Practice A Language

Spend 10–15 minutes a day learning a new language.

It can be any language you want!

Spanish may be the most practical.

But, maybe you want to learn french.

Go for it!

Exercise your brain.

19. Compliment A Stranger

I know your parents told you not to talk to strangers, but a lot of good can come from ordinary conversations with new people.

Maybe you see someone in line ahead of you at the store.

Or, maybe you randomly bump into someone you are interested in.

It’s time to open your mouth and speak!

What do you have to lose?

We have to be prepared to look like a fool.

The end result is worth it!

20. Stay Up Past Midnight One Night

There is something very serene about staying up late on occasion.

You can stay up late writing, or even reading.

Make yourself a cup of tea and watch a movie, or do a puzzle.

Just enjoy spending time with yourself late at night.

You don’t have to stay up every night. Just once a month is enough!

21. Wake Up At 5AM One Day

Don’t do this on the day you stay up past midnight, but on any other day, set your alarm for 5AM.

Have a plan for what you want to accomplish when you wake up.

Get some writing done.

Do your light stretching.

Have tea.

Read a book.

Exercise.

You can do anything!

The world is yours!

22. Play A Board Game

What is your favorite board game?

Dust it off and open it up.

Call someone to come over and play a game.

It can be anyone.

It can be that stranger that you complimented, or a family member, or a friend.

Scrabble, Monopoly, anything!

The point is to have fun doing something you used to enjoy that you don’t often do anymore!

23. Eat A Cookie

Remember those cookies you made?

Be sure to eat one!

Enjoy the taste of a delicious treat.

Don’t eat too many though!

Try to just eat one. or two.

24. Go To The Movies Alone

There is something so special about going to the movies alone.

You can get your soda and your popcorn, sit wherever you want, and just have fun.

If you don’t like the movie, you can walk out!

If you love the movie, you can see it twice!

I highly recommend going to the movies alone.

It is always a wonderful time!

25. Make Pancakes

A couple pancakes can make anyone smile.

My recommendation, either banana, or blueberry pancakes.

Make sure you have some syrup.

Invite a friend over for breakfast!

Have your cup of tea, or even coffee!

Enjoy!

26. Write A Poem

It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece.

You don’t have to show anyone.

Just write a simple poem to express however you are feeling.

It can be a sad poem, or a happy poem.

Spend 5 minutes and write out your poem!

You will feel great once you finish it!

27. Stare Up At The Stars

The sky is wonderful.

The stars have the ability to awe us in such a way that our minds go quiet and we experience a moment of divine peace.

When was the last time you stared up at the sky?

Whether you live in an area of light pollution, or a place where you can see the northern lights, take a look at the sky tonight.

You will be glad you did!

28. Go Swimming

Find a pool, or a lake, or the ocean, and go swimming!

Swimming is an immersive experience.

There is something freeing about being in the water.

Maybe there is a gym by you with a pool?

You don’t have to be Michael Phelps.

Just swim!

29. Plan A Vacation

It doesn’t have to be a week long vacation to the Florida Keys.

It can be a weekend trip up to Vermont to see the leaves change.

Or, A ski trip a couple hours away.

Further, you don’t have to actually go on the trip.

Just enjoy planning it.

Hopefully, you go, but if you don’t, at least you enjoyed thinking about it!

30. Take A Breath. You did it!

Breath is important.

We hardly think about our breath, but when we are stressed, we can consciously breathe in and out.

Take a breath and congratulate yourself.

It’s been thirty days.

You are a different person than when you started.

In fact, you will never be the same.

Have a beautiful life!
