Awakening Has Nothing To Do With What You Think

You can’t think your way into an awakening.

Whether your ego is positive or negative, does not matter.

In fact, anyone can wake up. At any time.

The criminal, and the saint. Both can wake up at any time.

Wake up to what? You ask.

Wake up to life.

Oh, you didn’t know you were asleep?

Think about your dreams. How they seem so real, until you wake up.

Life is the same way. We think we are awake. Until, we actually wake up. Then we realize we were dreaming all along.

So, if it’s not in thought, how do you wake up?

You are starting to awaken when you go beyond your thought, when you realize thoughts come and go, and that they don’t reflect reality.

Now, when I say start to awaken, I’m trying to use language you understand, when in reality, awakening happens all at once.

There is no start and there is no finish.

Even though awakening happens all at once, there are things we can do that will make it more likely for us to wake up to the here and now.

Meditation is definitely helpful in the beginning stages. Realizing, you are not your mind stream.

People think meditation requires a still mind, when in reality, meditation is the awareness of a busy and hyperactive mind.

Awareness that you are not your thoughts. That thoughts come and go. That you are the witness.

Understanding the limitations of the mind is a good prerequisite for awakening. It’s hard to wake up without an understanding that you are not the mind.

The mind stream can be helpful, or it can be hurtful, either way, it’s just the mind stream.

When we awaken, we will realize our thoughts are just that, thoughts, and that they don’t paint a clear picture of reality.

Reality is.

It simply is.

And it’s really refreshing.

Another thing you realize when you awaken is that there is nothing to do, and yet, you feel as if you can do much more. But, your primary purpose is to awaken the others. This is not as simple as it seems, because, how can we use words to bring others to a place beyond words? It’s very tricky. And very interesting.

So, there we are, awake, and yet, we can’t say anything to help another awaken. Well, we can’t, but we have to think outside the box.

That’s why awakened teachers often use paradox in an attempt to get their students to wake up.

Language is limited. Yet, we try our best.

If I had to say something, I would say, think about a drop of water. How deep are its depths?

Limitless.

The drop of water carries the entire ocean inside it. The ocean is made up of only drops of water.

We are drops of water. Infinitely small, yet infinitely deep.

There is no limit to the depths of a drop of water. Of you, and me.

When you touch the depths of your being, you will know yourself, deeply.

You will realize your past is gone. And your future is made up of the NOW.

You will live for and in the NOW.

You may slip back into sleep for a little bit of time. But once you are aligned in your mind, it’s only a matter of time.

Remember, we are tiny drops of the divine.

We have been placed inside of time, to realize the divine, mind.

Thankfully, awakening has nothing to do with what we think.

And anyone, can wake up, NOW.
